The typical description of red is the color of “passion” … I happen to think of it more in terms of boldness than fiery feelings. It is a strong determined color that won’t take no for an answer, you don’t mess with red; you accept it for what it is and love it or leave it.
Living near the Emerald City means as we look toward rich jewel tones the first go to shade is the aptly named version of Emerald Green. This is a universally flattering shade on redheads, blondes, and brunettes ; so make the best of the deep green color with dresses, coats and even a whole room devoted to the beautiful hue.
When I think of the color plum , rich reddish purple hues come to mind. Or even how the soft outside of a juicy plum has such subtle hints of the inside color peeking through the delicate skin. Deep plum , warm plum , or vibrant plum help make these picks a part of your transition into fall colors.
Rich, vibrant and romantic fuschia steals the show as the warm weather hits it’s peak before the eventual fall plummet. This grown up yet bright version of pretty pink can make a dramatic difference in your mood and bring out the rosiness in your cheeks.
Happy Monday! Time for COLOR OF THE WEEK again, and it’s making me feel like lemonade, lemon sorbet and lemon meringue pie. I’m holding on to summer sweets for dear life before we start moseying into chilly weather.
As you may have already guessed, I adore absolutely every shade of citrus. Tangerine, the tamer version of the classic orange, is an all time favorite. Allow it to bring you to the bright side, it’s nearing the end of summer so let’s enjoy some sunshine hues before it’s time for hot chocolate and pumpkin pie.
Since changing my hair to it’s current over the top copper red, my new favorite color to flaunt is all the shades of cerulean blue. It feels bright and full of energy, it’s an across the board flattering color on all skin tones, hair colors and works in all seasons when used properly.
Mint green is tasty , refreshing , soft , bold , retro , modern , a wonderful hodge podge of descriptions all seem accurate. Use as much or as little of this shade, it has no limitations as far as I’m concerned. On the road, my nails, in my bowl… it belongs everywhere.
